I guess siSwati names should count, since siSwati and isiZulu are very close linguistic cousins. When I was teaching in Swaziland, one of my students dubbed me Bongani -- "let's give thanks". But the name I really appreciated was one given to me by the family that hosted me during Peace Corps training: Mfanawenkhosi -- "the Lord's boy". But it's a long story, so you'll need to contact me off-line if you want the whole story...

I agree - thanks for the post. We scaled out of our provider's capabilities and found ourselves scrambling to address the issue. We have a somewhat complex environment and most providers were very rigid in their offerings. Carpathia Hosting team were very bright and flexible enough to help us achieve our goals and budget and they implemented our solution in 2 weeks! Very impressed!

Shirin, you are definitely a guru in highrise products. I realized you are using a good combination of other tools to make it a worthwhile for you. One thing I liked about highrise is that its really simple to use. If they have those extra features, it could be much more powerful product. BTW, on their forum, they pointed out that if you forward old emails, it will not be attached to a contact but it will be attached your own contact as (from name is your own name). They suggested copy-paste only.
We have our own internal applicant tracking and contact management is part of that, so we plan on using that. We will soon make it available to public, I will also share with you to get your feedback.

Hey Ghazenfer - I owe you a telephone call. Here's how we deal with those items but totally understand that you may have found something more to your liking.

To add old email conversations we simply forward the older emails to the dropbox. Both sent and received. On my Mac I use a program called "act-on" to quickly file messages. I put together a simple rule that allows me to push ctrl-h and it automatically forwards to our highrise drop box. From there I can choose to file the message under a deal or a case if I need.

You're right, there's not a ton of filtering capability - we use tags heavily to do those types of sorts which is tricky for something like a zip code.

On recent pages I use the uppermost right tabs for the 5 most recent pages, this makes things quick. We also use Cases for our projects (like website re-design or professional services projects) and "deals" for specific engagements.

What did you end up going with? There's a ton of choice out there for sure.
